Smudging is a centuries-old ritual that involves burning sage, a sacred herb, to cleanse and purify a space, object, or person. How to safely burn sacred herbs:

Materials Needed:

Sacred her bundle
Heatproof container (such as an abalone shell, ceramic dish, or metal bowl)
Matches or a lighter

Steps:

1.Prepare the Space: Open windows and doors to allow fresh air to circulate. This helps the smoke carry away any negative energy or impurities.

2.Set Your Intentions: Before lighting , set your intentions for the cleansing ritual. You may silently or verbally express your desire for purification, clarity, or any other positive energy you wish to invite into the space.

3.Light the Sage: Hold the sacred her bundle bundle by the end away from the leaves (the handle) and light the other end using matches or a lighter. Allow the flame to catch for about 20-30 seconds until it starts to produce smoke.
